Planet

As a business, we understand we have an impact on the environment, and acknowledge it is our responsibility to manage our relationship with the natural world,
continually looking for ways to reduce impact and increase efficiencies.

Climate impact

The fashion industry is often cited as one of the most impactful sectors in terms of climate and nature, and changing this status will require industry-wide effort, innovation, and collaboration.

An important first step for any fashion brand is measuring its climate impact across its direct emissions (scope 1) and indirect emissions (scope 2 and 3). For fashion, the majority of emissions are generated through scope 3, the manufacturing, distribution, use, and disposal phases.

Carbon is one of our focal areas as we move forward. Using industry-leading experts, we've measured two carbon footprints to date and are using these to set the baseline and develop science-based targets to reduce impact across our direct and indirect operations. From there, we will develop a reduction roadmap to keep us on track. We are proud signatories of the Low Carbon Transition Programme, a British Fashion Council and UK government-funded initiative to support 50 London-based fashion brands to reduce their climate impact through carbon reduction and circular business model strategies.

Materials mix

We our proud to favour materials from reduced-impact sources, including organic farming, recycled feedstock, and responsibly-managed farms and forestry. Organic cotton helps avoid harmful agricultural chemicals, including pesticides and fertilisers. Branded tree-based fibres, such as viscose and lyocell, are derived from certified responsibility-managed forestry. Wool is sourced from supply chains certified to uphold the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare and responsible farming practices. Synthetics, including nylon and polyester, are derived from certified recycled sources.

Waste

Our waste-reduction journey sits across all our operations and products – from initiatives at head office and instore, to packaging, circular design principles, to useful life extension of products. Beyond
this, we plan on working with our partners to identify ways to reduce and reuse waste in our supply chains.
