3 Looks You’ll Want to Throw Mesh Over Immediately!

As you’ll know from our LFW street style report, mesh has well and truly caught the trend tribe in its net this season. The gauze-like fabric was thrown over tees, hoodies, and dresses alike, for the ultimate in next-level layering. And we couldn’t get enough it. In fact, we’re kinda’ wondering how we survived so long without the stuff.

Not so sure? Check out the three looks below, and just try imagining them pre-mesh. It’s like that time you accidentally increased your phone brightness, adjusted to it immediately, and suddenly realised you could never return to that previous medieval-like setting again.

Mesh peplum t-shirt, slogan tee and culottes

Sweet tooth? Get your sugar-fix with this candy-colour combo; powder pinks, bubblegum blues and an eat-me marshmallow white? It’s a filling waiting to happen.

These wide leg culottes, in a textured plisse fabric, are easier than a Sunday morning, and totally work with a slogan tee for cool LA vibes. We’ve teamed with skater shoes for a true-to-trend touch, and layered our mesh peplum tee overtop. As for the pièce de résistance (yes, we googled which e’s to put the accents over), the netted socks inject just the right amount of break-up black.

Mesh dress, printed jumper and frayed jeans

Grunge might be headlining the show right now, but for a true SS17 take on the trend, you’re gonna’ need to look beyond the old ‘flannel shirt and shredded jeans’ combo. For starters, it’s all about frayed-hem denim atm; opt for a cropped pair, and work with boots; the blacker, the bucklier, the better!

Now comes the switch-up. This neon zebra sweat provides the perfect pop of pink, while its slouchy shape maintains a grunge-girl vibe. And then it’s simply a case of throwing our mesh dress on top for a head-to-heel (and by heel, we mean don’t-mess-with-me solid rubber sole) statement.

Mesh cami, t-shirt and pu skirt

Go desk-to-dusk in this slogan tee and pu miniskirt pairing. Just about 9-5 appropriate, thanks to the skirt’s semi-smart fit, sneaks help style the look back, meaning you can totally skip along (like, literally!) to post-work drinks afterwards. As for the mesh cami, it adds an all-new dimension to the tee, while a denim jacket over-shoulder is a trans-seasonal must while the weather continues to oh-so-slowly warm.

These are just three ways to wear mesh this season, but as always, we’d love to see YOUR slant on the style.
