HOW TO HAVE A BADASS CHRISTMAS

HOW TO HAVE A BADASS CHRISTMAS

Whether you’re stuffing your stocking with social justice or decking the tree with fierce feminist ornaments (keep it PG for the kids ya’ll!), it’s all change for Christmas tradition this year.

For 2017 it’s all about giving something back and celebrating in a responsible way. This isn’t a buzz kill guys, in fact, it’s literally the coolest way to make a statement this festive season and do things a little differently. Plus, an alternative Christmas will give you a lil’ something to talk about over the Christmas pud (not all traditions are up for grabs!).

Swap that ropey looking angel on the top of your tree for someone truly worth looking up to (did someone say Queen Bey, Serena, Hilary…?). Check out the not for profit brand Women To Look Up To, producing tree toppers made of more than plastic and glitter.

For £80 you can have Hils 3D printed in her signature power suit (plus wings obvs) for a truly presidential Christmas, or for £195 you can take your Mom to the London studio to have her reimagined in angelic form. Too creepy?

Dabble in advent activism

Created by The Pink Protest, The Activist Advent Calendar is a new way to add some action into advent. From signing a petition one day to watching The Hunting Ground on Netflix the next (WARNING it’s a little heavier than Elf).

Christmas is a time for giving and what better way to give something back than to create change (or watch Netflix and chill!). The guys and gals at The Advent Activist Calendar provide one easy, online action every day in the countdown to Christmas.

Make the world better with a sweater

Yup, it’s festive knit day again, but it’s all in a very good cause with proceeds going to Save the Children. Stick 15th December in your calendar and encourage all the Grinches in the office to get involved, after all, it only takes one cool co-worker to start a trend, are we right?

We’re also not opposed to dressing up pets in the name of charity! It’s just £2 to take part (sign up on the Christmas Jumper Day website) and you can wear any jumper you like, whether borrowed or bought especially for the occasion. There are tonnes of on-trend alternatives to the traditional blinged up woolly pulley, just scroll down for inspo!
