Gina Martin: turning rule breaking into law making
Heard of activist and writer Gina Martin? Our girl, fought an 18 month-long battle to make upskirting a sexual offence after falling victim. The Voyeurism Act 2019 came into force on 12 April, making anyone caught upskirting – the act of taking a photo up someone’s skirt without permission – at risk of facing up to two years in prison. We’re not the only ones that think Gina’s a rock star… Cosmo named her ‘One to Watch for 2018’, PORTER named her one of their ‘Incredible Women of the Year 2018’ and Stylist named her ‘Equality Champion of the Year’ at its inaugural Remarkable Women Awards in 2019.
In the midst of her big win in The House of Lords AND all the media attention, Gina’s also releasing a book, encouraging you to channel your inner activist. Got what it takes to be a change maker? Find out with one of three signed copies of Be The Change by Gina Martin, being gifted by yours truly. Head over to @nobodyschild on Instagram for your chance to win before midnight Tuesday 11 June 2019.
Are you an aspiring activist? What’s on your agenda? Why should you be on our radar as a change maker?
