These Celebrities Owned the Coachella Festival Style Scene
Ah, the four day weekend. Finally a Sunday that not even Monday could ruin. It’s literally the stuff of dreams, but while most of you were doing just that – sleeping in til the crack of afternoon, in an attempt to unsuccessfully avoid a hangover three days in making, others (namely Victoria’s Secret angels, famous-by-default celebrity offspring, and some of the most double-tapped faces on the planet) were jet-setting off to the ‘City of Eternal Sunshine’ for the official launch of summer festival season.
Held over two weekends every April, Coachella’s the mecca for all thing snap-worthy, street style included. And seeing how it’s an easy 5000 miles clear of British weather, attendees were free to forgo the otherwise-essential rain macs, wellie boots and roll-up lifeboats that have come to characterise Glasto and the like. In short, this meant absolutely no holding back when it came to those show-stopping festival get-ups. We round up the headline acts…
Sis to the Queen of Festival herself, it was only a matter of time before Lottie Moss started showing up in these things. And by things, we mean festival style lists… not golf cart buggies. Ever wondered how to do mono in the summer? Look and learn, kids. And as for that white knit crop top… talk about insta-worthy texture.

Guaranteed to top the Coachella style slate year-on-year, Aztec patterns are a mainstay on the festival circuit. Jourdan Dunn does the trend proud in this embroidered top and short co-ord combo. Or is it a playsuit? Jury’s out…

Ordinarily, the bardot top’s a godsend when it comes to tan lines, but for reasons unknown, Victoria Justice’s off-the-shoulder style comes complete with the straps (answers on a postcard…) That said, she’s got that colour-block look on lock, and balances out the floaty tiered design with spray-on denim cut-offs like a Coachella pro.

There’s a MacBook-thin line between retro-cool and looking like you raided your mum/grandma/grandad’s (if you haven’t tried on his tweed jacket, you’re lying) closet. Vanessa Hudgens, however, 100% nails the look come Coachella every year. Rocking a sixties vibe, who’d have thought a baker boy hat would work so well with an oversized pom pom tee dress. Vanessa, that’s who, and she was right on the money.

Well, whad’ya know? Our old friend, mesh. Yes, we’ve been banging on about the netted must-have for the last few months now, but as Hailee Steinfeld just goes to show, it’s hands-down the most versatile style on the shelves right now. Tuck it into a pair of high waisted paperbag shorts for sure, but believe-you-us, it looks just as effective over your slip dress, under your BF tee, or peeking through your distressed denim jeans.

Yes, you’re gonna struggle when it comes to the portaloo, but if you’re willing to let that slide, a playsuit’s basically your festival BFF. No need to coordinate an outfit; check. Takes up less room in the bag; check. And no need to pull it over your head when you fancy a dip, and ruin those painstakingly prepared boho plaits; check. Jamie Chung, we salute you.
