5 Summer Dresses for Every Occasion this Season

5 Summer Dresses for Every Occasion this Season

We absolutely love summer here at Nobody’s Child, and whatever the occasion – whether it’s a music festival, a weekend away or simply a barbeque in the back garden – we’ve got a dress for that! In fact, we’ve got over fifty dresses, including, bodycons, kimonos and maxi dresses, in a dizzying array of floral, pleated and stripy patterns, but today we’re looking at the five in particular that will see you right through summer in style.

While the dress has taken a bit of a back seat during the last few decades or so, what with the meteoric rise of the trouser, it still remains a girl’s best friend when it comes to dressing up and feeling feminine. No one gets excited in quite the same way choosing a new pair of culottes, as they do about finding that perfect dress for your friend’s wedding, or perhaps simply a night out with the girls. Calf skimming or thigh brushing? Body hugging or free flowing? Block coloured or pattern popping? The choices are infinite, so allow us to make life a little easier for you…

The Perfect Garden Party Dress

Did someone say Pimms o’clock? Before you get totally lost in thoughts of bobbing cucumber chunks and fresh minty aromas, make sure your wardrobe game’s on point…

With its delicate pastel colour palette and sleeveless silhouette, our Tropical Smock Dress has summer garden party written all over it. What’s more, it’s loosely tailored shape is ideal for when that Twister mat makes an obligatory appearance later on in the evening. #YOLO, right…?

The Perfect Wedding Dress

When it comes to picking out a dress for your BFF’s wedding, there’s only one rule; you can’t wear white. Other than that, all bets are off, but we’d suggest something that stays on the tasteful side of statement.

Our Black Floral Maxi Dress is a glamourous summer number with its side-split and waist wrap detail, while the white blossom print works perfectly with the wedding theme. Throw a black floppy hat into the mix, with a pair of oversized cateye glasses, and don’t be surprised if bridezilla makes an appearance. In fact, you might want to take our wedding guest quiz, in preparation!

The Perfect Beach Dress

Holiday booked? Whether it’s a weekend away in Cornwall or island hopping in Greece, a beach-chic dress is the perfect coastal accompaniment. It’s light and airy, easy to slip over a bodysuit, and you’ll look like a total fashionista in your holiday snaps.

Our Halter Neck Beach Dress is the ultimate vacay get-up with its statement blue and white palm leaf print. It’s cinched at the waist for a flattering finish, and falls into a free flowing skirt below. Pair with a white woven hat, tonal sandals…and a pina colada.

The Perfect Going Out Dress

Going out this summer? Look no further than our Grey Pleated Midi Dress for a totally trending take on evening wear. A thigh-high side split provides a touch of allure, while the pleated texture can be dressed up or down for a day-to-play vibe. We personally love it with tie-back heels and a leather jacket.
