5 party-perfect styles you may not have considered

Winter’s heavy on your wardrobe. Simple as. Saturday night in the summer, and it’s simply a case of throwing a floaty summer dress over-head, popping to the park with a Frisbee under-arm, and collecting a pack of Corona en-route (bet you forgot the lime). But winter, on the other hand – assuming you can peel yourself away from the warm glow of Netflix – is an entirely different animal, fraught with wardrobe-demanding social events, whether it’s the office Christmas party, Jane’s elaborately themed birthday event, or that annual family get-together.

So, while the temptation’s certainly there to make a beeline straight for your ever-forgiving, ever-reliable black bodycon dress, thanks to social media, everyone knows you already wore it to Paul’s leaving do… just last week. Not to mention Sarah’s hen party the month before (nice one, Zuckerberg!). Lucky for you though, we’ve picked five of our readiest going-out garbs, each different from the last, to ensure you’ve got the perfect style already ready on the rail, no matter what social events winter throws at you this year.

The Jumpsuit

Hitting the clubs this weekend? Take style cues from the era of disco with this 70’s-tastic Cold Shoulder Jumpsuit. Wide leg trousers channel the shape of the season, while uber elegant lace provides a lust-worthy touch to the neckline. Go #TBT on the footwear, in sky-high platform mules, and true-to-the-trend on the accessories, with shoulder-dusting gold hoop earrings.

The Slip Dress

Striving to make a statement this season? Black’s a classic for sure; understated sophistication in its purest form, but that’s exactly it – understated. Those really wanting to turn heads need look no further than our Silver Metallic Slip Dress, finished in a lustrous mirror-like fabric with barely-there straps. Soften the sheen with leather over-shoulder, and seek out the good Doctor M for an anti-femme finish.

The Co-ord

While an LBDs all well and good, you can’t exactly chop-n-change the style, say, with a pair of jeans by day, or a crop top the-morning-after-the-night-before. Which brings us neatly onto our Star Print Co-ord combo. Finished in trending velvet with a cosmos-patterned design, together it’s the perfect party get-up. And separately? Totally interchangeable with the rest of your rail. An essential investment, should anyone ask.

The Bodycon

Ok, yes, we’ve slipped a bodycon into the list, but this really isn’t your run-of-the-mill style. Shaped to a 90s silhouette, with an all-over glitter finish, is it too early to start thinking New Year’s Eve? We think not. Try it with boots and a choker for a nod to the decade, and get ready to party like it’s 1999. #RIPrince

The Playsuit

Younger cousin to the jumpsuit, the playsuit’s always up for going-out, and this rose print offering’s no exception. Combing two of the season’s biggest trends – florals and velvet – what could be more now? Hugging the body before fanning out into a pair of flippy shorts below, watch the jaws drop and the ‘likes’ rocket.
