Planet

At Nobody's Child, we are committed to continually monitoring our climate impact. We’re constantly looking for ways to reduce our footprint and make smarter choices in materials, processes, and partnerships.

Measuring Our Climate Impact

In 2024, we joined the UK Gov x BFC’s Low Carbon Transition Programme and measured our full greenhouse gas emissions through leading carbon accounting app, Seedling, giving us the clarity we need to drive real change. This data allows us to track our progress, set science-based targets, and reimagine how we create clothes with a smaller footprint.

Last year, our carbon footprint was 11, 721 t CO2e. Our scope 3 emissions accounted for 99.65% of our climate footprint, and areas with the highest impact were materials, supply chain, and garment use phase. We're working on a 2050 reduction plan and will be publishing our targets soon. FY24 hotspots included materials, manufacturing, freight, and active use phase.

Understanding Our Emissions:
Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3

We’ve mapped our emissions across three categories:
  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from our operations (like heating).
  • Scope 2: Emissions from the electricity we buy.
  • Scope 3: Emissions from our supply chain, including raw materials, production, transportation, and garment use.

Like most fashion brands, scope 3 makes up the bulk of our impact, so that’s where we’re focusing the most effort.

Identifying our hotspots

Financial Year 2024 (FY24) hotspots included materials, manufacturing, freight, and active use phase. This has led us to develop the following control procedures:
  1. Materials Matrix and product group-specific targets
  2. Reduced Impact Freight policy
  3. Enhanced supplier engagement and sustainability data collection
  4. Product care guides

For our FY25 measurement, we are working closely with our teams, operations, and supplier network to gather as much primary data as possible for increased accuracy, specificity, and traceability.

Working together for change

Supplier Engagement

To better understand our supply chain, we work closely with our supplier partners to gather data across five key areas: water, waste, energy and emissions, chemicals and biodiversity. Through this process we’ve developed a clearer picture of our impact and have started the process of setting targets for continual improvement.

Our environmental data is tracked through our annual supplier sustainability survey, Worldly’s Facility Environment Module, SMETA 4 pillar audits as well as data collected by our traceability and product environmental impact partners Fairly Made.
