Here’s how to love it for longer:

Less is more

As a breathable fabric, cashmere doesn’t need frequent washing. Simply air your jumper or cardigan out after it’s been worn and the natural fibres will release most odours on their own. Unlike other fabrics, you don’t need to wash after every wear - so you can mix and match with more outfits before adding to your washing.

Hand wash vs. machine wash

Cashmere is an investment piece in your wardrobe. Knowing how to wash cashmere can be the difference between a long-lasting item and one with a shorter life. We recommend a gentle hand wash for anything 100% cashmere, and when washing blended garments, turn them inside out and wash them on a delicate cycle.

To keep delicates feeling soft and supple, opt for a mild detergent, such as Woolite.

Handle with care

If you need to wash your cashmere, be sure to do it gently. Scrubbing or wringing is a big no-no where cashmere is concerned. Quickly treat any marks or stains with care and remember, a light touch goes a long way.

Flat is fab

After washing, lay your knitwear out flat to dry. Nobody wants unshapely necklines or shoulders in their jumpers so avoid hanging them up as this can cause unwanted stretching. Laying flat to dry also helps reduce the risk of moisture trapping which can attract unwanted moths.

Fold, don’t hang

Hanging your knits can stretch and distort their shape over time, so store them folded to help your most-loved items maintain their shape for many A/W seasons to come.

Organise your knitwear by weight, colour, or occasion for effortless dressing.

Protect your pieces

Swap out your cashmere for airy dresses and skirts in the warmer months. To store, wash and dry your woollens before wrapping them in a pillowcase to keep them fresh and moth-proof during warmer days.

Need something longer-term? Airtight storage or vacuum packing works wonders for space-saving and ensuring no uninvited moths can nibble on your premium pieces.

Don’t tumble dry

High heat can ruin cashmere fibres and fabric, so opt for air-drying over tumble drying. Not only will it help preserve the quality of your wool garment, but it will also reduce your laundry emissions at the same time. Now, that’s what we’d call a win win.

Stay smooth

Natural fibres like cashmere can pill more than synthetic ones, but don’t worry as these are entirely normal and can be easily removed without damaging the fabric.

To help reduce bobbling, wash your garments inside out and for any additional pilling, simply remove them with a cashmere comb or fabric shaver.

How to prevent pilling

We know you want to wear your knits on repeat, and when that happens, they can be prone to pilling.  so soft, we know you will want to wear your cashmere knits on repeat. Most common on natural protein fibres like cashmere or wool, bobbling is a natural side-effect caused by friction, from fibres rubbing together during everyday wear or when washing or drying. Pills might appear first in places like your sleeves, underarms or wherever your bag strap rubs against - the areas that get the most friction whenever you wear them.

Investing in a fabric comb or razor will remove those pesky pills and have your garments looking as good as new in no time. Gently comb or shave the pills away, and remember, pilling should decrease over time.
